A heart-opening spiritual pilgrimage thru sacred sites & magical portals of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will receive potent activations from these lands & receive traditional teachings from Andean medicine men (Pacos), participate in ceremonies, and experience powerful healing and energy work thru their strong ancestral lineage.

This is more than retreat – it is a journey into our inner world, to awaken to our true nature which is pure love. By remembering our divine connection with nature, the Apus (mountain spirits) & the sacred forces of life, we learn to live in harmony with the world and with ourselves. This is a trip is a living prayer & a returning home to our sacred heart.

This journey is best suited for individuals that have been on the spiritual path for a while.  It will be a very deep dive into the Andean Cosmology & ancestral medicines of these lands.  It’s also important to have a certain level of fitness to participate in all the activities as we will be hiking in high altitude to various portals & places of significance…sometimes a few kms at a time. 

ITINERARY (11 DAYS)

Please plan to arrive in Pisac to check into our accommodation between 12noon & 3pm on May 8th.  Pisac is calm & tranquil and one of the first towns you come to in the Sacred Valley (about 45 minutes from the Cusco Airport).  The altitude is high in the Andes so if you can arrive a day or two earlier to adjust it would be highly beneficial.  If you can only arrive on the 8th, it’s also fine as we’ve built that possibility into the itinerary and won’t be doing anything too strenuous for several days.  Airport pickup is included if you come directly to our guesthouse in Pisac, otherwise you need to arrange your own taxi (which is relatively easy & safe in Cusco).

In Pisac, we will be staying in a beautiful guesthouse on the edge of town called Melissa Wasi. It’s a short walk to town or a quick motorcar ride. The main square of Pisac has many great restaurants & shops.  

DAY 1 (May 9th) – Arrive & settle into our accommodation.  Temezcal ceremony in the afternoon (see note 1).

DAY 2 (May 10th) – Orientation meeting & intention setting; Opening ceremony with Q’ero Elder; Optional coca readings (see note 2)

DAY 3 (May 11th) – Ceremony Day with Huachuma (see note 3)

DAY 4 (May 12th) – Integration circle; Pisac Ruins

DAY 5 (May 13th) – Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo & San Pedro Market

DAY 6 (May 14th) – Moray; Ñaupa Iglesia, the “Pacha Altar”; Ollantaytambo;

DAY 7 (May 15th) – Free Day; Evening Concert TBA

DAY 8 (May 16th) – Travel to Ausangete; Despacho Ceremony; Hot springs

DETAILED ITINERARY (11 DAYS)

DAY 1 (May 9th) – Arrive & settle into our accommodation.  Temazcal in the afternoon (see note 1).

DAY 2 (May 10th) – Morning breakfast followed by an orientation meeting & intention setting.

Afternoon opening prayer with Q’ero Elder, don Sebastian & Andean Paco, Percy Huaman Levita. Don Sebastian will perform a Despacho Ceremony to connect us to the power of these sacred lands & to set our intentions for our journey ahead. It is sacred ritual used for blessings, healing, and setting intentions. He will also share the Hampy Karpay with each participant – “the Healer’s Rite’ which connects us to a lineage of luminous healers from the past to assist in our personal transformation, awakening the healing power so that everyone we touch is blessed. We access tremendous spiritual assistance; ancient healers who help heal the wounds of the past and of our ancestors. There will also be optional coca readings available (see note 2)

DAY 3 (May 11th) – Morning breakfast; Ceremony Day with Andean Master, Percy Levita & the Grandfather Medicine, Huachuma;

Evening dinner & song around the fire.

DAY 4 (May 12th) – Morning breakfast & Integration circle;

In the afternoon our wonderful Percy will guide us around the Pisac Ruins where you can see the largest Inca cemetery with more than 2000 tombs. There we can admire the incredible farming terraces carved into the mountain and the religious area of this important citadel.  We have enough time to explore this majestic site and to be reconnected with the best of the Incan ancestors.

DAY 5 (May 13th) – After breakfast we will travel with Percy to the archaeological site Sacsayhuaman. This site had great cultural and political importance to the Incas. Its construction reflects the skill and advanced techniques used by this civilization, as well as its relationship to nature and the cosmos. Sacsayhuaman is a Quechua word that can be translated as: “Saqsay”- “Satisfy”, and “Huaman”-“Hawk”, meaning “the place where the hawk is satisfied”.

In the afternoon, we well visit Qenqo.  Which means ‘labyrinth’ in Quechuan and was built to invoke Kaypacha, a legendary snake that gives rise to life.  It’s also believed that the Incas used this place as a bridge to communicate with other of their gods such as the Sun, the Mountains, the Moon and the Stars. We’ll also visit the San Pedro market.

DAY 6 (May 14th) – After an early breakfast, we will travel with Percy to Ñaupa Iglesia, the “Pacha Altar”. The site is a revered spiritual location, often associated with rituals honoring Pachamama (Mother Earth) and other Andean deities. It is a doorway to the Cosmic Library that connects us to our origins from the stars and a powerful cosmic energy source.

In the afternoon we visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, which translates to ‘House of the Rising Sun’.  We will visit the Temple of the Rising Sun, the royal baths & connect with the temples of the Earth, Water, Air and Fire.

DAY 7 (May 15th) – Morning Breakfast & free day to rest, have a massage, shop etc;

DAY 8 (May 16th) – After an early morning breakfast we will visit the Pisac market (on Sundays the farmers of the region gather in the square to sell their produce…a lovely cultural experience!) 

From there, we will travel onwards to Ausangete – ‘the Portal of Munay’. To the locals, Ausangete is the ‘Father of all Mountains’ and to the Quechuan people, he is the spirit (Apu) that protects the people. Our guide will be Maestro Percy Huaman Levita, Andean Paco. 

After we settle into our accommodation at Pacchanta, a small community near the base of Ausangete, Percy will perform a Despacho Ceremony & we will share our offerings to the different Apus and the Mamacochas to receive us in their house.   

In the evening after a beautiful dinner cooked by our hosts, we can enjoy the hot springs, which are a few steps from our homestay!

DAY 9 (May 17th) – In the morning after breakfast, we will begin our journey towards the sacred lagoons of Apu Ausangete where will have our 2nd ceremony with the sacred medicine of Huachuma (aka San Pedro cactus – see Note 3) After exploring the Apacheta (step between two mountains or valleys), we will then descend to the sacred lagoons of Otorongo Cocha & Ancash Cocha to purify our bodies and spirits. 

In the evening after dinner, we will have more time to soak in the hot springs.

DAY 10 (May 18th) – In the morning after breakfast, we will visit Lucio’s temple and from this altar, we will say goodbye to Maestro Ausangate.  Then we will travel back to Pisac.

DAY 11 (MAY 19th) – Morning breakfast & integration / closing circle.

Day 12/13 (May 20/21) – Optional trip to Machu Picchu:

DAY 12 (May 20th) – After breakfast we will travel to Aguas Calientes by train from Ollantaytambo. We will spend the night in Aguas Calientes which is at the base of Machu Picchu. There are hot springs which you can enjoy.

DAY 13 (May 21st) – After an early breakfast at our hotel, we will travel by bus up to the mountain top of Machu Picchu, the ‘Crystal Condor City’.  Percy will take us on a comprehensive tour, bringing it to life by detailing the history, significance and myths surrounding it as well as taking us to the hidden corners and best viewpoints. We will have plenty of time to enjoy its magical energy.

After our tour, you’ll have the option to climb Huayna Picchu (approx 2hrs return)…which I highly recommend if you have the energy & endurance, as it does have a lot of steps.  It must be booked well in advance as they only let 50 people up at a time.  The views looking down over Machu Picchu are amazing and it’s only when you get up this high that you can really appreciate its incredible setting, nestled on a ridge between jagged mountains. The extra cost for Huayna Picchu is 200 peruvian soles (approx $60 Usd)

Mid-afternoon, we will board our train to Ollantaytambo train station. Once we get to Ollantaytambo, our driver will be there waiting for us & we will travel back to Pisac. 

THE INVESTMENT

Cost $3,888 USD (Early bird $3,499 until Oct 31st), with $1,000 USD deposit to hold your space.  Deposits are non-refundable.  Payments made in USD or the Australian equivalent.

Payment #2 ($1,238) is due Feb 1st – payment #3 ($1,650 USD) is due in cash on arrival in Peru.  If you would prefer to send payment #3 electronically, please add 8%

This itinerary includes all accommodation; Private transport to the ceremonies & archeological sites; Entrance to all archaeological sites; Entrance to Ausangate; Breakfasts (10), Dinners (3)

Accommodation is double occupancy (twin shared rooms or double bed for couples).  It’s possible to have your own room for an extra $800 USD (if available)

Not included: 

Optional trip to Machu Picchu. Cost is $488 which includes private transport to Ollantaytambo train station, return train tickets, 1 night accommodation in Aguas Calientes, 1 breakfast, bus tickets from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, Entrance to site & guided by our wonderful Percy. Please note, Machu Picchu must be booked approximately 4 months in advance to secure online advanced tickets. It is still possible to come after that time, but you will be required to travel to Aguas Calientes on the evening of May 19th & stand in line for the tickets on the morning of May 20th to secure tickets for May 21st.

Accommodation costs outside of specified retreat dates (Extra days before May 9th, May 19th & May 21st can be arranged at Melissa Wasi with advance notice).

International/Domestic Flights; Visas, Travel insurance; Gratuities (tips for our drivers & cooks are a nice gesture but not mandatory).

Meals where are not stated; food is relatively cheap in Peru & very good!  There are many fantastic restaurants & cafes in Cusco & the Pisac.  Meals are approx $5-15 Usd.

Transport where not stated (a pre-arranged taxi is approx $25-30 Usd from Pisac back to Cusco airport or $10-15 Cusco Airport to Cusco…hotels can send a driver who will have your name on a sign at the airport)

NOTES:

Note 1 – A temazcal ceremony is an ancient Mesoamerican sweat lodge ritual used for physical healing, spiritual purification, and a symbolic rebirth. The word comes from the Nahuatl word temāzcalli, meaning “house of heat”. It is a low, dome-shaped hut that represents the womb of Mother Earth. Volcanic rocks, often called abuelitas or “grandmothers,” are heated in an outdoor sacred fire and placed in the center of the lodge. The ceremonial leader pours water infused with medicinal herbs over the hot stones, creating dense steam inside the dark, enclosed space. Participants sit in a circle, focusing on breathing, setting personal intentions, chanting, and listening to traditional prayers or songs. The benefits are detoxification & mental clarity. The darkness and heat encourage deep introspection, helping participants release stress, anxiety, or emotional trauma. Stepping out of the low entrance of the dome at the end of the ceremony symbolizes being newly born / spiritual renewal.

Note 2 – The Coca Leaves Reading Session is a spiritual practice since ancient Inca times. When people had to make important decisions or needed advice related to their family, farming season, personal problems, or they wanted to know the weather forecast, they used to ask the sacred Coca Leaves for guidance. The purpose of the oracle reading for the Andean Shamans was to heal, which helps people to find their answers and take the right decision. They are for anyone who would like to have some guidance and help with decisions about their personal life, challenges in their career, love life, health, and more. These readings are available as an optional extra to the retreat & cost $75 USD.

Note 3 – Huachuma “aka San Pedro cactus” is a sacred ancestral visionary medicine of the ancient Andean Mountains of Peru. The journey brings us through to our shadows & places that are asking for our attention so that we may transcend our inner barriers to bring us awareness, new perspectives & aligned ways of being. It is known as a heart opener & opens a path to the heart and soul. It greatly expands those emotions of the heart to include love, forgiveness, joy, and even sorrow. Huachuma is a gentle medicine but incredibly powerful. It also became known as San Pedro, a Spanish word for ‘Saint Peter’, during the Spanish conquest of South America in the 16th century as it was believed to grant a spiritual ‘heavenly’ experience on Earth; much like Saint Peter is believed to hold the keys to heaven in the Christian religion.
